OpenArena's my "HEY LETS LOOSELY REMAEK Q3A FROM SCRATCH UNDER A FREE SOFTWARE LICENSE (gnu gpl)!!1" project and it's going well again.

I'm gonna shoot for a Feb 25 release date for Alpha 3.

yeah i quickly threw q3a's botfiles in to record this vid, ill have to remake them because their chatlines were outsourced

p.s. the "you have taken the lead" is Dasyati of ytmnd fame. heh I need a good announcer voice for my project now :U

Some updates, and i'm going to release a version today. Alot of changes since pre-alpha 2...

I am hosting a dedicated server, the avg ping is about 20-30 me and my friend tested it and we get no lag. We played for a while and it was some nice fun

Levels are too serious for the guns and characters (at least the one I played).

once again i've pooped out another version, this time 0.4.1.

I originally wanted to go further but i was lazy so there's not much in this version

Changes:
- New map: DM6ish, from SavageX (Adapted from Nexuiz)
- New rocket launcher, complete with new sound
- Some sounds changed and added
- File reorganization and split into multiple pak files
- Two additional packages: Tiny, and tiny barebones. Tiny is the same game but reduced quality for disk space / dialup bandwidth / low-end computers, and barebones is a cut version of tiny designed to have as minimal resources as possible (and can still run some big mods)

Hi guys.

Unfortunately there was some doubt about Fox_DF's sounds and we don't want to risk any legal troubles, so I have removed the releases and the sounds from the repository leaving us with a need for a sound artist that doesn't copy and paste.

unless you use a sequencer making sounds is always mixing and altering stuff you record from the real world.

well drama aside, i've released the cleaned up 0.5.1 release. Should be on the news right now.

I can record some temp sounds for ya cheepy and I mean record...
